About Me

In Summer 2018 I sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and through the Mediterranean for 40 days. After my ship's final docking in Nice, France I backpacked through Europe for another 35 days. I stayed and interacted with Couchsurfers all over Europe during my journey and the experience was life changing. I'm so happy I utilized this site for my trip, and I can't imagine traveling any other way!

Now that I'm back home I want to give back to the CS community, so if you're visiting Los Angeles I'll be more than happy to show you around and hang out! I can't host at the moment, but I can be an amazing tour guide and show you some fun and hidden secrets that LA has to offer!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Immediately after starting international travel in 2016, I realized that my preferred way to experience other cultures is through its people. After visiting Cuba and staying with a local family, the way I viewed traveling dramatically shifted. I now spend my time learning a country's language so that I can converse with the locals and learn things that most travelers never even think about. I'm on Couchsurfing because I really do want to meet and speak with locals, because I believe the best way to learn about a culture is by speaking with the people who have lived in them for their entire lives.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a very wide range of music, but my favorite band, by far, is Gorillaz. I enjoy all sorts of movies too, but especially horror movies! My favorite is The Thing with Kurt Russell. I haven't had much time to read lately since school textbooks keep me busy, but I typically enjoy suspense novels. Hoping to read more now that I've graduated.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in a 36-37 meter schooner over 40 days! During this voyage we stopped in Azores, Gibraltar, and Nice (so we crossed a large portion of the Mediterranean as well). It was my first time sailing, and it challenged me both physically and mentally. After this voyage I backpacked alone through Europe for 35 days, making my journey a 75 day adventure. This was a life changing experience, and I've returned home with a very new perspective on life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very open minded and willing to learn many things. Everyone has something new to teach! I'm also willing to share whatever I can with all my heart. I truly believe in the importance of leaving a positive impact on places visit.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, an open mind that's willing to learn new things, and repaying their kindness with my own. I'm willing to help my hosts if they need anything (cooking, cleaning, shopping for groceries). I can also share my own knowledge and experiences from the U.S. and from the various countries I've visited.

Countries I’ve Visited
