Overview
About Me
My name is Jack, and I live in a suburb just outside of Cleveland, Ohio, where I've grown up. I currently attend the University of Cincinnati, and I study Classical Language and Culture, as well as language in general. I'm very outdoors oriented and have been very active for the past 5 years or so, as I am currently the vice president of the University of Cincinnati Mountaineering Club. I like talking and spending time with people in general, and I'm very willing to help those from different cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My main goal is to be able to meet people from different cultures, whether American, or a totally foreign culture. Throughout my (starting to become extensive) travels, some of my best experiences have been simply talking with those that I meet.
I also deeply appreciate being helped when in a new environment, whether it be with language or customs, and so I want to be able to give those positive experiences to others traveling.
Interests
As stated above, I am very involved in the outdoors. My favorite activities include backpacking, hiking, mountaineering, and rock climbing, but any time spent outdoors is what I'm looking for.
I love language, especially foreign languages, and so I take every chance I get to (attempt to) learn the languages of others. I know Latin and Ancient Greek, and currently my most proficient modern language is German, which I am all too interested in practicing.

Music, Movies, and Books
All I really need to say here is that I love most music with guitar, as I have been (trying to, at least) playing acoustic guitar for a couple of years, mostly self-taught.
What I Can Share with Hosts
To my hosts, I want to be able to show a side of America that is not always seen. I want to show that we CAN be adventurous, friendly, and accepting of other peoples and cultures. And to those in the US already, I just want to extend some great company and conversation.
