About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover and explore as much of North America/ Canada as time allows.

ABOUT ME

I've recently graduated from the University of Bath and am currently travelling for 9 months before commencing a career in teaching starting in June 2014. My trip has started in San Francisco, from here I am travelling north. I intend to spend a considerable amount of time in Canada where I have a working visa. My current intentions are to find employment in Whistler, British Columbia. Here I'd love to spend some time skiing and having a lot of fun.

PHILOSOPHY

It was once said that "if you always do what you already do, then you'll always get what you've already gotten".

So always be open to trying new things and learning from others. Who knows what might just happen. Be generous, be kind, be respectful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As an individual I am proactive, I believe in making the most of your days and seeing all that the world has to offer.

On a practical basis, I will be a respectful and helpful guest. I'll ensure to assist with the cooking and tidying, as well as show a genuine interest in those kind enough to host me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've recently joined the CS community and attended my first 'meet up' in San Francisco earlier this week. Since then, I've spent some time exploring this beautiful city with a few fellow CS. It has been a great way of meeting others and I look forward to the fruitful times that lie ahead with other couch surfers.

Interests

I enjoy being with friends and family. I also love meeting new people, finding out what their life story is and taking on board any wisdom that they offer.

I love the outdoors. Adventure activities including skiing, snowboarding, surfing, sailing I really enjoy along with camping and hiking. I love music, hearing it on the radio or live in concert or at a festival. I enjoy reading novels and watching films/ documentaries. Food and drink, I am always willing to try new foods and drink and improve my cooking skills.

I love visiting new places and discovering about different cultures. All of this I believe allows me to get to know myself further.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked as a Boarding House Supervisor at a school in South Australia. A third of the boarding house comprised of Indigenous Australians, many of who came from severely remote backgrounds. It was an amazing experience getting to know and teaching these Indigenous students. I learnt a great deal from it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you what I've learnt in my life so far.

On a practical basis, I can teach you a variety of sports (I worked as a PE teacher whilst on placement from University). I also know about Personal fitness (I've ran two half marathons). I'd also love to share my cooking skills.

I love to learn from others. Be it philosophical or practical, I am a willing learner.
