About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the US for 3 months from mid June to mid September, meeting and seeing as many amazing people and sights as I can on the way :)

ABOUT ME

I am a 23 year old Brit. Average height, average hair, average appearance really :P.
I'm pretty smiley, make really bad jokes (half of the time at myself) and have got along with pretty much anyone and everyone I have met.
I know far too much about music, movies and sports, but have an absolutely appalling knowledge of science and cooking - both of which I intend to improve!!
I cannot wait to get on the road, and just see where it takes me (within the U.S. borders).

PHILOSOPHY

Money is money, you can't take it with you when you pass.
Try everything once, you don't have to try it again.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I play guitar. I smile. I listen. I tell stories. I give a bit of insight, albeit with more bad jokes in between. I read. I write for a travel company. I teach soccer back in the U.K., and am first aid qualified if that helps at all?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only recently joined. Have known about the concept for a while, but just getting to grips with it!

Interests

I love films, music and sports. It's a bit nerdy I accept, but I love to know facts and figures and then compare them (I swear I'm not as bad as this sounds).
I play guitar when I have a spare 10 minutes here and there, and used to teach back when I had time in school.
I love to learn new things, be it about a city in Central Asia, or a youtube video with a dog riding a bicycle.

Music, Movies, and Books

I pretty much read every George Orwell novel cover to cover growing up. Lately I tend to read more books to do with my work, i.e. the history on a place, or where to, and where not to travel.
Music can be literally anything, because I judge bands on each single song rather than saying I love everything they do. For example, I love the songs 'Fake Plastic Trees' and 'Lucky' by Radiohead, but I don't like 'Anyone can play guitar' or 'Fitter Happier'.
Movies - The Departed, There's something about Mary and Donnie Darko to name but a few, so I'm not fussy on genres!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Without a doubt, it was turning 20 whilst visiting Washtington D.C., and at the stroke of midnight I was stood in front of Lincoln's memorial, just in front of the Reflecting pool. It was a cool night, with no one around in arguably one of the most famous capitals in the world and (having studied history at University), I imagined all the things that that place represented and had taken place there. Again, maybe this is just me being nerdy, but hey, it made me happy :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach soccer, guitar and a knowledge of all 50 America States and all the 47 countries of Europe :P

I would love to learn about how people grew up; what is the norms in their culture, and how they perceive other cultures, including mine as a Brit.

Aside from money and my personal things, I pretty much share everything I have :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
