About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Knocking off all my corners in an attempt to be a well-rounded individual.
ABOUT ME
I was raised by the most quintessential hard-working, practical, Midwest family. And as much as I've tried to fight it sometimes, that's really what the root of my personality boils down to be. However, in addition to being more than a little responsible, I try to be creative, open-minded and constantly search for new adventures. Which is how I ended up here. I recently quit my job to take some time off and travel. Because well, why not? And in my career I'm constantly drawing from life experiences and human truths. So that's what I'm searching for more of through this trip. Plus, I love meeting new people. And you can never have too many friends. So I'm packing my stuff up and hitting the road. I can't wait to meet you.
PHILOSOPHY
Be nice. Be open. Be honest. Everything happens for a reason. There's something to learn from everyone. There's no excuse for arrogance. Ever. If you want something, you have to make it happen. No one will do it for you. Life isn't fair, but that's no reason to complain. People are surprising. Almost always in a good way. When in doubt, eat chocolate cake.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've just been introduced to the CS2 Project and I can't wait to jump in. I'm currently planning a three month journey to New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, and several places around SE Asia. I'm developing my own personal study abroad trip. I'm interested in learning about my destinations through a local perspective. And when I return home, I'll be excited to offer my couch to people seeking the same.
Interests
Movies - every kind except scary. Music -every kind, even scary. Food - everything except meat. I've been a vegetarian for about 12 years now. However, I do eat seafood. I love dessert. Especially chocolate cake. Both eating it and making it. At some point I'd like to call myself a baker. Of course I'm interested in travel. And I love all things about it. Even spending time in airports. If I have people to watch I'm content. I love maps, itineraries, in flight movies, train schedules and getting lost. I love interesting people. And I find that most everybody is pretty interesting. I enjoy sculpture, nature, architecture, history, sociology, photography and sushi. There's not a whole lot I'm not interested in.
