ABOUT ME

At night I stare up into the sky, in wonder. It is the tiny extent of our awareness amidst so much unknowing that inspires me daily. Education for me is not the filling of a vessel, but the kindling of a flame. I live to learn, create, inspire, and bring joy, and these are desires that I never fully satiate or appease. The more I know, the more I realize I know nothing. I yearn to realize more about biology, physics, mathematics, astronomy, our environment, history, my deeper meaning, music, and God, whatever that may be. I love developing deep relationships, pursuing excellence, playing music, and dancing with that ever changing convergence of beauty and light that we call life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing to the top of Pyramid peak in the Sierras and seeing the whole world below me. Scaling Volcan Pichincha in Ecuador, waking up and walking to the top of a hill and seeing the Southern Cross and part of the big dipper at the same time; spinning fire in the red rock desert outside of Moab, Utah.
