About Me

CURRENT MISSION

1. Be happy. 2. Help others be happy.

ABOUT ME

My name's Jackie and I'm a photographer working on my art and art education degree at UCLA. I'm a very open and accepting gal. I'm always curious to hear the other side but I absolutely do not tolerate prejudices.

I'm always cruising galleries and museums so if that's what you're looking to see in Los Angeles I could offer suggestions on where to go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I host and surf.

While I'm open to all kinds of people, because I live alone I prefer hosting people who have good reviews from previous hosts. If you're new to couchsurfing message me anyway and we can talk first.

None of my traveling experiences would be as story worthy or life altering as they have been if I hadn't connected with the strangers I met.

Interests

Long walks around cities and getting lost.
Gardening and cooking.
Biking, poetry, semiotics.
Ceramics, film photography, painting.

The local music scene here is great. I'm usually scrambling to get to small venue shows on the weekends. Mostly post-punk/garage music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Philadelphia Story, Her, Harold and Maude.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm...I traveled down the east coast of the states starting in Boston, then Providence, New York and ending in Baltimore alone for a month. Couchsurfed part of the way and that was amazing (;

Once, in Alicante, I got on the back of a stranger's motorcycle and saw the city in a completely different way, the way you can only experience a place if a local is sharing it with you.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're interested in traditional, analog photography, that's my alley.

Otherwise, we can share recipes because as much as I like being outside, I also enjoy spending time at home trying new recipes and making dessert! I have a really huge sweet tooth (((:

What I Can Share with Hosts

What i can provide for you is a space to make yourself comfortable while you plan your day. I trust you with an extra set of keys to my home. You'll have wifi and access to a computer, access to the kitchen where you are welcome to cook as long as you clean up, a bathroom where you can take a bath or shower (i'll have extra clean towels if you need them), and a place to sleep. You can either share my room where you can use my extra mattress and we lay one of the floor or you just sleep in the room and I'll take the couch in the living room. I prefer my couch if I have visitors, honestly.
