About Me

Hey there and Kia Ora,

My name's Jackson. I'm 28, currently working for a children's non-profit, and trying to become a writer in my spare time. I'm fairly active: walking, hiking, biking, swimming. Anything outdoors, ya know. I enjoy cooking, a bottle of wine, or just sitting out and watching the stars.

I've just moved back to the D.C. area after 5 years in New Zealand, and three months in Europe this past summer. If I'm hosting, please reach out. I don't tend to stay in one place very long.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started on here as a guest, and have made so many friends and memories with my hosts. I am so insanely thankful to them, and the entire Couchsurfing experience, that I'm now looking to host people as well.

Interests

My main interest at the moment is trying to become a writer and author. Though I've just bought some painting gear and am looking to learn more about oil painting.

I'm super laid back, even when I'm walking for miles around the DC trails.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music -- Mainly movie soundtracks and EDM

Movies -- Dramas, epics, fantasy

Books -- Coming of age, murder mysteries, fantasy

Art -- Greco-roman, impressionist, Van gogh

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to a nudist dinner in Switzerland with two strangers; Hiked Roy's Peak in New Zealand; Pinball museum in Hungary.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a moron, don't ask me to teach you anything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm walking distance from Reagan airport, from the local subway, the regional train, a short boardwalk, and a miles long nature trail. I don't have a car, but everything is super accessible and there are bikes to rent outside my apartment building.

I work from home, so if my work day is light, I'd be happy to show you around. If not, there's always dinner, coffee, or some beer/wine that can be passed around. I've got a lot of stories to share, and hope to hear some of yours as well.
