Overview
About Me
Holaaa! I’m Jax.
At the moment I’m living in Baltimore, USA planting fruit & nut trees around the city with a small Edible Landscape Design company. I write songs, experiment with new recipes, explore la naturaleza & share joyful moments with the people around me.
Since getting my Agroecology degree in 2018, I have managed a permaculture farm on a volcanic island in Nicaragua for a year & started a small tree nursery with friends up in Vermont, USA.
I travel because it is invigorating to be in new places with new people and have the chance to appreciate the nuances in each others’ different lives. We have so much to teach other.
Grow abundance, Give good love, Abre los brazos!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I created a CS account when I went trekking through Europe in the Fall of 2016. I bought a cheap flight to Amsterdam without a place to stay or a plan and an hour before my plane took off, an awesome CS host by the name of Rogier invited me to stay with him...
it was an incredible experience staying with Rogier & since then I have had the chance to stay with a number of incredible hosts in countries around the world.
This January-February I’ll be in Mexico volunteer farming and would love to connect with new friends. I speak mostly fluent español.
If I happen to stay with you...
In return for the hospitality, I will do all that I can to repay the favor! Through sharing stories, gardening, playing songs, cooking, cleaning, etc, I will be a gracious and kind guest.
Interests
Organic gardening, food sovereignty, growing mushrooms, writing/recording music, running, writing poetry, ethnic cooking, cross country skiing, permaculture farming, powerful novels, film photography, tasting new foods...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share
Tell me your stories! Let’s cook something together. I can soak up as much as one is willing to teach and share with me. Learning new skills, tricks, languages, recipes, songs, and forms of artistry would be amazing. I also am eager to learn about things to do in the various places I will be visiting along the way.
As for my own teaching and sharing, I can pass on anything from juggling to songwriting to poetry. I got my degree in Agroecology so there is also much I can share about sustainable farming and the wonders of the nonhuman natural world.
