About Me

### Currently in Greece ###

Hey CS I'm Jackson, just a country town coastal kid at heart who traded in his hourly job to travel the world hitting around a tennis ball. Tennis has always been my passion as long as I can remember. Parents couldn't keep me off the tennis court as a youngster and 10 years on I still can't get enough of it.

I spend my year chasing the summer around the world and jumping on the nearest plane, bus, tuk tuk, rickshaw on to the next tournament. Aside from tennis I love anything to do with the beach, I recon if tennis fell through I'd move myself to a coastal town and try pro surfing. A passion for foreign food, lover of a dam decent coffee and even more happy when accompanied by a swell conversation. I like to think of myself as a really laid back guy, open to the world, doing my best to be humble and share love and a couple of smiles anywhere I can. If it's one thing travel has taught me is that most prejudices we learn in our home lands of other countries and cultures is utterly and completely false... and how dam happy I am when I have the privilege travel to wherever in the world it is and settle my own fears and prejudices.

I'm an open book so feel free to as away, happy to share a coffee or a beer if i'm in your neck of the woods.
Feel free to say G'day!

Peace and Love!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to see the world and the people in it. I want to hear the stories and experiences from people of all walks of life and learn of their respective worlds through their eyes. I want to share food, stories, music and rad times with people from all over experiencing the raw culture of the town/country I'm visiting. I grew up in Australia far away from many other cultures and oblivious to much, I want to learn as much as I can about the world and the people in it, creating lifelong friends along the way.

I have this feeling we are very disconnected from each other as humans, by what we hear about one another over the media. If there's one thing I've learned from my travels so far is that most of what is portayed about cultures to other parts of the world is quite false and so far my experiences on couchsurfing have settled my fears of place and enlightened me, re-instilled faith in this world and the love in it. I want to be able to host travelers from around the world and show them true Australia, or Germany when I'm there, and give back to travelers just as hosts are giving to me currently.

Can't wait to meet you, surf your couch or have you surf mine ✌🏼💚

CARL SAGAN - Astronomer, Astrophysicist, Astrobiologist... speaks these words as the camera from Voyager 1 satellite shows Earth as it flies away from our planet. In the camera view, the Earth appears like a Pale Blue Dot.

“Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.

Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.

It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.”

― Carl Sagan, Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space
