About Me

Hello!

I am a Portland native who is always planning my next adventure. Whether it is at home or abroad, wanderlust is a central part of who I am.

I am currently spending time exploring more of the United States after having been abroad for a couple of years.

I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2015.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I firmly believe travel is about the people you meet and not so much the places you go.

Plus, I enjoy understanding how people like to live in the cities I visit on top of doing the normal touristy things.

Interests

I enjoy traveling and teaching, so I've been doing the two at the same time. I started in France, made it close to Africa last year, then maybe Asia or South America soon.

I also enjoy pick-up soccer/football games, sitting around a campfire, hiking in caves, and trading travel stories. I am also a huge fan of board games. I'll have one with me, Battle Sheep (No, not Ship), and am always interested in learning new ones.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a huge hip-hop/rap fan and I love west coast rap, although my favorite rappers are Tech N9ne, Joey Badass, and Logic (who come from midwest and east coast).

My favorite movie is Pan's Labyrinth. It is a must if you haven't seen it yet.

My favorite books are Dune by Frank Herbert and the Game of Thrones series (also The Foundation series).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The summer of 2016 I participated in the Mongol Rally. I did it with one of my friends and we drove from the U.K. to Mongolia and then back again. We covered over 20,000 km and visited quite a few countries all while raising money for charity.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am traveling the world with the hopes of one day visiting every country. I am doing this because I have always had a passion to understand people from all backgrounds and cultures. There is just something I find enthralling about people, who they are and what makes them happy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Of the essentials: I am a tidy, polite, and good smelling individual.

I have plenty of stories to trade and can spend hours sharing over a couple good beers.

I have a few dishes under my belt: Seasonal burger, deep-dish nachos, and for breakfast I can make a mean egg scramble. Any of which I am always willing to share.

I will have countless questions about the city, the country, the inhabitants, and how to make the best of my time there.
