I'm an easy going person who gets along with just about everyone. I work but if I have time I'm happy to show you around in my free time!

A great sense of humour goes a long way with me. I love stuff like Saturday Night Live (especially Bill Hader, Kenan Thompson, and Andy Samberg).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first heard about Couchsurfing from a few friends. I couchsurfed a bit during my European trip in the Summer of 2014. Traveling isn't complete without meeting new people. I'm not the type of person to rush through every tourist destination upon arrival at a new place.

Thanks to CS, I met a lot of friendly locals in Avignon for drinks and conversation (even though my French is awful). I also went to the Fete de la Musique when I was in Avignon with Diane and Niklas, both of whom I met through CS.

I stayed with some lovely Australians -- Liz, Stef and Pete -- in London while I was there, they were honestly some of the nicest people I've ever met. We watched the World Cup Finals with relative apathy, which I thought was amusing.

I'm usually up for showing fellow CSers around if they come to Vancouver, just send me a message.

Interests

I mostly like to stay home and watch movies, read, lounge, and play games. I like art museums and craft fairs. Recently I've taken an interest in ceramics and mid century furniture/design.

I like reading, mostly classics, American and British. I also read a bit of non-fiction, and I enjoy long form journalism occasionally. I write a little, but not very well.

I like playing the piano too, I played when I was young and I am trying to take it up again

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my fave movies because they are mostly ambiguous: Fight Club, Up in the Air, Dead Poet's Society, The Incredible Now, Into the Wild, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Before Midnight, Rush, Whiplash, Listen Up Philip.

Books: Age of Innocence, Middlemarch, Martin Eden, East of Eden, Siddhartha. I like novels of manners so I love George Eliot and Edith Wharton.

Music: The National, The Shins, Arcade Fire, Spoon. Recently I've been listening to more Ra Ra Riot, Belle and Sebastian. I also like musicals

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've slid down the sand dunes of Dunhuang in Northwestern China on a wooden plank, ate a bunch of sand

Jumped off some cliffs at the Calanque de Sugiton in Marseille, was pretty scared but glad I did it

Seeing the Cliffs of Moher appear out of a thick fog (cloud?) was awesome

Driving through Glen Coe has convinced me that the Scotland highlands is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Would love to explore it more thoroughly someday
