Overview
About Me
I spend my time exploring ways to connect the broader world by creating opportunities to engage with one another in a variety of ways. I am currently working on a project that aims to highlight innovative individuals and initiatives all over the world. I'm eager to meet and talk with anyone, anywhere about why they love their places.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started my adventures in traveling as the lead singer/guitarist in a rock n roll band; couch surfing was how I got to tour and see the country. I loved every second of the experience, and I enjoy being able to continue to participate in hosting and surfing, even without the guitar.
Interests
I am an avid reader of all things social entrepreneurship, economic development, localism, globalism, and the like. I additionally nerd out over sci-fi like LOST, Fringe, and the Twilight Zone.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'm a child of the 80s so I'm big on Journey, Genesis, and the like, but I also enjoy Jimmy Eat World, Pedro the Lion, The Get Up Kids, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, and on and on and on.
Movies: Shawshank Redemption is still the favorite, but I also have a soft spot for Back to the Future, Star Wars, Star Trek (not all but a good few), and a long list of others. I'm always happy to talk about movies.
Books: I'm an avid non-fiction guy, so mostly I read insanely "boring" tomes about economics and social behaviors.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I made a positive feature length documentary about the Rust Belt region of the United States, and it actually got accepted in to several international film festivals; that was pretty fun.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about Cleveland (I'm a nerd about my hometown) and the Midwest region of the United States as a whole. I've studied it extensively over the last seven years, and enjoy talking about the people, places, and ideas I've gotten to experience.
I can share a lot about experimental economic development, which is the "industry" I primarily work in.
I'd like to learn about you; the cool things you've done and/or are doing. I'm a huge nerd about big ideas and bold initiatives. If you're someone trying something that others might qualify as "crazy" or "misguided": I absolutely want to hear all about it!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a pretty decent cook. If the weather is nice: I will grill for hours and hours. I'm a huge fan of BBQ and will never turn down a chance to enjoy that with a new friend.
