About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I FLIPPIN' LOVE COUCH SURFING
ABOUT ME
I don't own a car and I have been without a phone for a year now. It all started with Couch Surfing.
I first logged in in Siem Rep, Cambodia, after my travel companion matter-of-factly told me about it. I jumped on the wifi and made a profile. I started hosting in Washington DC for three years, putting pins on the world map in my kitchen of all my surfers. I hosted CS events and couch crashes at my home. I made a ton of friends, hence the generous vouches. I met my best friend, Mackerous, through Couch Surfing, who introduced me to Burning Man, now, my best obsession.
I quit my video editing job in DC and sold my car in 2011 and moved to South Korea, where I taught English for two years. While there I started a regional Burning Man, called Korea Burn, with my good friend Cheong Shinyeob. After my second contract in Korea, I cancelled my phone and I started a 9 months vagabonding trip in Nepal, hitting the Everest Base Camp trail. I then flew to Malaysia, toured Thailand (for the third time), traversed across Laos, and drove a motorcycle across the country of Vietnam. Then I jumped over to America to be reunited with my friends at Burning Man. I met a wonderful CSer, traveler, and entrepreneur at Burning Man and we hitch-hiked from Mexico to Vancouver and then clear across Canada.
I have lived life day to day. I ride public transportation. When that isn't an option, I ride my bike or walk. I am not bothered by text messages or ringing cellphones anymore… not until I log onto the wifi. I am in the moment and I am experiencing the now.
To say the least…. I love to travel. Life on the road has changed me. The people I have met have saved me from silly circumstances and given me second chances to grow and help make the world a little better. I hope to continue making best friends with complete strangers until the day I die.
Please read my profile before asking to CS with me. Also, it is suggested that surfers send an actual CS request to hosts instead of a private. This helps the CS Admins to keep records of who stayed with whom just in case information needs to be reviewed. It's for your safety!

PHILOSOPHY
I want to open my mind to new cultures and ways of doing things; not only for the experience, but to become a better person spiritually.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host, I surf, and I make sure I leave a reference! I am not shy about my vouches either. This system works on feedback and vouches are like gold!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Oh man. I've met so many awesome people. When I joined in 2008, I lived in Washington DC. Since then, the people I have met have taken me on journeys all over my town and the United States let alone become some of my best friends in my life. They have taught me valuable lessons about friendship and traveling and shared stories that have me planning my next vacation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
So many stories. I'll share them with you.
Teach, Learn, Share
Read profiles. I can't stress that enough. It will take longer when asking dozens of people in the same town, but you'll want to now who you are surfing with before you make the commitment.
I want to attend any/all flow arts festivals. Can you spin poi? Let's meet up and share moves!
