Overview
About Me
I've been living abroad for nearly 2 years now, teaching ESL and traveling in my spare time. I studied music and math at university, and will gladly talk to you about either subject.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to see as much of the world as possible, and I'd like to share the experience with someone. I used to hang out with my friends and the couchsurfers they would host, and I fell in love with the idea. Now I get to play the role of a surfer and can't wait to meet all the awesome people out there and hopefully have lots of memorable experiences.
Music, Movies, and Books
Too much music to list. Let it suffice to say I listen to nearly all genres except hip hop and I'm in love with art music (American minimalism, in particular).
I love science fiction movies, but I'm happy to watch most any genre of film you throw at me. A few favorites: Metropolis, The Producers, Anchorman, Blade Runner, etc.
I spent far too many years of my life not reading enough, so I decided to rectify the situation this year and read as much as I possibly can. I love Siddhartha (Hesse), Brave New World (Huxley), Master and Margarita (Bulgakov), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Adams), Notes from Underground (Dostoevsky), A Universal History of Infamy (Borges), and everything I've read by Vonnegut.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Perhaps not something I *did* but rather happened -- I was once rescued by the Indian military from a landslide in the Himalayas.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're looking to learn anything about music theory, or want to be exposed to new kinds of art music (classical, jazz, etc), I can gladly be of assistance!
I can also share things I've learned from the places I've lived -- card games, manners, survival language, etc.
Countries I’ve Visited
Estonia, India, Latvia, Lithuania, South Korea, Turkey
Countries I’ve Lived In
China, Russian Federation, United States
