Overview
About Me
Hello everyone! I'm Jacob. I currently live in Madrid, but I'm originally from Chicago, USA. Here are some random things about me:
I work as a language assistant in a high school here in Spain
During the summer I work for an art company, and do antique photography
Studied Spanish, Psychology, and Cognitive Science
Played the drums and percussion for 13 years
I also really want to travel the world and befriend all of the cats... Or become a professional sleeper. #lifegoals
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've stayed in enough hostels and met a lot of people traveling like me, but you never really meet the culture or the people of a country, which is the whole reason that I want to travel.
Unfortunately my ability to host is limited at the moment, but I will be updating that information after traveling for Christmas!
Interests
My interests are so diverse.. one day all I want to do is be outside, hiking through nature, and the next day I don't want to leave my bed and the dark. I can listen to heavy metal music and watch horror movies, or sing along to musicals and Disney movies. Of you ask me to go out to the club, I'll drink and party and have a good time, and then the next week maybe I just want to be at home, crafting something or reading a book and drinking hot chocolate. I'm a very go with the flow kind of guy, and just want to enjoy other people's lives and experiences with them

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always willing to help people with their English and would love to learn some common phrases and words in the host language. I can also teach you the basics of music and Spanish. I also love analyzing cultural differences and talking about psychology and linguistics.
What I Can Share with Hosts
When I stay at a friend's house, I always integrate myself into the daily routine. I can offer to help clean and cook, but also I'm really great company for conversation and just chilling and enjoying life.
