Hi! I'm Jacob and I recently graduated in July 2023 after 6 years of studying at the University of Leuven. I am a sporty 24 year old who loves to meet new people and discover new places. In my hometown Halen, I play football at the local club with a whole bunch of friends. It is my first time travelling alone for such a long time, but I'm loving every step of it!

My trip started on December 5th and right now I am roaming around Malaysia. I just recently finished my Advanced Open Water Padi course on Perhentian Kecil and want to get some more diving experience before I return back home. I also love surfing and hope to do plenty in my last months here!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my upbringing, I've lived both in Ayacucho, Peru and Bangkok, Thailand. Although both these experiences were quite short-term, I immediately was amazed by the difference in culture, lifestyle and mindset and fell in love with discovering these cultures and maybe most of all the thing that brings every community on earth together no matter the location: food. I think Couchsurfing is an ideal way to do just that: submerge yourself in local culture and customs whilst providing an opportunity see the country/city in a different way.

I enjoy outdoor activities soo much! I love to have an active lifestyle, whilst I also can enjoy some slower days on which I love to cook and do some drawing.
