I recently graduated from Cal Poly with an engineering degree and I am now working in Helena as a fish passage and stream restoration engineer. I work Monday through Friday and I like to play hard on the weekends. I love to explore wherever I am and meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had my first fling with Couchsurfing when I was 19 and bumming my way through Europe. I met some amazing people who took the time to share a little bit of there lives with me. This was one of the highlights of my traveling experience! In the last few years I have tended toward more tent-based traveling accommodations but now that I am a little bit settled, I want to host and share a little bit of my life with people passing trough.

Interests

Outdoor sports have been my main interest the last few years. I really enjoy rock climbing, but not just for the climbing itself (which I love) but also for the community that surrounds it. It is a great way to meet great people. I also enjoy biking and skiing. Music makes me really happy and I love going to good shows. I really like to travel, as I am sure everyone one on Couchsurfing must. As much as I enjoy my various hobbies, I think what really makes life great is people. Meeting new people, building relationships and enjoying time with old friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

The word indie seems to come before most of the genres that I'm into. But really, if it's quality music and/or it makes me want to dance, I like just about any genre. Just to give you a taste, lately I've been listening to a lot of Mandolin Orange, The War on Drugs, Wilco...

Movies-Uhhh... I don't watch a lot of movies, but I tend to like most movies, the exception being horror films, I very much dislike scary movies.

Books- Definitely a fan of the classics; Hemingway, Dickens, Austen etc. I also enjoy books by people who are still alive.
