About Me

AS A HOST
My current living condition prevents me from hosting. However used to host. As a host I will hang out with you. I don’t mind being a tour guide. I will take you to free events and shows. As well as introduce you to cool local spots you’d likely not have access to otherwise. I myself am also heavily community oriented. I am involved in art, gardening, biking, hiking, and music communities. I also generally keep a surplus of bikes on hand so you can borrow one or two of them if need be. I also will give you a key and private room so you can come and go as you please. I think the most I’ve ever hosted at once was seven but those were extenuating circumstances. I expect at least 24hrs notice and for you to handle arrival on your own. If you’d like to get a better feel for me please check me out on Instagram, @Hermit_of_wands

AS A GUEST
I’m independent and easy going. I will work around your schedule and handle my own affairs such as travel. You won’t have to worry about me as I take care of myself. I am also clean and respectful. I’m happy to help with chores to earn my stay. Or lend an amount of my time however you may need it. In the past I have been an Au pair, a live in house keeper, a work exchange farm hand, and as well as being a host myself. So I understand what it means to be a good guest. If you’d like I’ll even cook for you and do the dishes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I happiest experiencing and exploring new cultures. I love food. I could really spend the rest of my life sitting in the sun eating.

Interests

I do mixed media with a concentration on colored pencils, watercolors, markers, & ink. Sometimes I paint acrylics. I’m into music. I’ve been to lots of shows and concerts and festivals. I listen to everything. I like hearing other people’s tastes. I play synthesizer but I don’t record and I don’t play in bands. I write and read lots of different things. Murikami ftw. However I mostly read to learn. I’m always studying. I also a garden. I love being in the sun. I am a cyclist. Commuter, rides, and polo. I hike too. I know lots of guys like MMA. Ive done it in the past but it’s not really my thing. I also dabble in yoga. I also enjoy partying. Cannabis and Mushrooms. I don’t drink too much but the occasional cocktail is nice. Eating is my past time. My next meal is what I plan life around.

Music, Movies, and Books

For media I really enjoy things that are artsy with a touch of surrealism. Since for music and books there are too many to list I’ll stick to movies. However my favorite author is Haruki Murakami and my favorite books are the hermetica and kybalion. Movies I love are, Ex Machina, Splice, District 9, Shoaolin Soccer, Stepbrothers, Shawn of the dead, The Darjeeling Limited, Departures, Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Herald and Maude, Inception, Little Miss Sunshine, El Topo, Wiener- dog, Four rooms, Defending your Life, and The Dance of reality.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My company. I’ve lived a pretty unique life and have done a lot. So I have a lot to offer. I’m pretty into gardening and can always offer help or advice. I am also a “former” art teacher. I give you pointers on how to have fun in your art. I call my approach drawing without mind. I teach beginners, children and adults. I’m also creative in the kitchen. I mostly use veg. My sister says I can make a better salad then most people can cook. I’m also into philosophy. I’m non-judgmental. Whatever weird shit you’re into it’s cool with me. I love having deep non-objective conversation. Opinionated people are cool. I’m really good at listening and asking questions. I genuinely want to get to know you.
