About Me
Hey you,
My name is Jacob, I'm 26 years of age and Danish born and raised. I joined the CouchSurfing community some time ago, but only used have currently only used it once. However, it's something I've been wanting to do again ever since. In my everyday life I'm a qualified nurse, a field of work I value greatly due to the diversity of people I get to meet and work with. I consider myself open-minded and willing to challenge my prejudices. I strive to learn about different people, -cultures and myself which is why travelling and meeting new people is something I love.
I look forward to meeting you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I do the best to my abilities to try and stray away from full-blown touristy stuff on my trips and prefer to get an insight, local point-of-view on wherever I go. I'm hoping CouchSurfing can help me achieve just that!

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC ///
I would tell you I'm into a wide variety of music and my favourite artists currently includes Grimes, Kelela, TÃLÃ, Nujabes and Only Real. My "guilty pleasure" playlist on Spotify would say I like Selena Gomez, Willow Smith and All Saints. Neither would be necessarily wrong.
MOVIES ///
Any Hayao Miyazaki film, the occassional action-packed Fast & Furious film, and lastly, British murder mysteries taking place in places no one's ever heard of. I don't do well with movies involving ghosts, girls crawling out of TVs, jigsaw puzzles involving people dying, or movies displaying explicit physical violence.
BOOKS ///
I have a dream to one day be able to pick a book from my bookcase, lean into my favourite armchair, read said book and thoroughly enjoy it. However, I can't ever seem to remember what I've just read, let alone focus my attention long enough to get into it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I decided to study abroad in London for a year. A decision I made for myself and consider the single most amazing experience of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to make a mean meat sauce and you can pretend it's revolutionary, or I can just teach you how to say the Danish tongue-twister "rød grød med fløde" so you can leave any Dane on your way absolutely gobsmacked.
You can watch my face twist and deform as I try to pronounce words outside the Danish or English vocabulary.
I feel the best way to get to know someone is to share life experiences.
