About Me

ABOUT ME
Hello lovely people. I'm Jacob and I'm happy to meet you. I believe that every person has something valuable to share and has potential to inspire.

I appreciate and value the most, people who are long-term oriented and don't give up in the times of obstacles and downs. That's why I love learning languages, investing, dancing and Couchsurfing. All of them should be treated as lifelong projects! Couchsurfing policies tried us several times and kudos to all, who still believe in CS spirit, despite the obstacles!

"Consistency, persistence and perseverance are the most important factors to fulfilment in any sphere of life."

Let me present myself in a concise way. I'm:

#freedom chaser
#sun lover
#software engineer
#language teacher
#polyglot
#cyclist
#always in motion

- With everlasting thirst of learning new things (especially Science and Tech).
- I try to be minimalist and try to focus mostly on human interactions.
- I'm aspiring polyglot.

PHILOSOPHY
The best investment in our lives is what stays in our souls and minds for a long long time - that means beautiful emotional memories and knowledge. So collect experiences, not things and create.

INTERESTING FACT
I'm against Instagram and other "social" media

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Never enough!
I became passionate about hosting people and I used to host people both on Couchsurfing and Airbnb in my hometown. In total, I hosted more than 400 people in Gdansk. Currently, while living in the Netherlands, hosting people is not as easy as in my hometown, but if you're by accident in Rotterdam instead of Amsterdam : ) feel free to drop me a message.

HOW TO DESCRIBE PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTIVE COUCHSURFERS FOR A LONG TIME? THEY:

- They are aware, grateful, positive and have a wider perspective of the world,
- They have huge trust to newly met people without critical judging, despite of being hurt emotionally many times.
- Constantly they crave for beautiful feeling of being free,
- They find happiness via travelling,
- They try to live alternatively, out of typical scheme and get out of the comfort zone often,
- They’re very often against consumerism and current state of the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- The most beautiful experience was running on Playa de Cofete in Fuerteventura. The beach is totally uninhabited and there's almost no visitors. It feels like you're little ant confronting with massive beauty of the nature and the beach doesn't end.

- Another one of the most exciting moments in my life was doing "via ferrata" with two friends in the middle of nowhere, in Gran Canaria. Back then I had little prior experience in climbing and several times I thought that I might fall off the high cliff and die. Once we got to the top, it got dark and we had a chance to watch the most amazing constellation of stars I've ever seen.

I'm emotionally connected with Canary Islands, I lived there and have a lot of dreams related to this amazing place in the world.
