About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living in Leipzig, moving to Berlin in July, quite busy organizing everything.

ABOUT ME

Hey, I am Jacob, coming from Germany and punctual after turning 18 (in July 2013) I was going abroad to get to know the world, the culture of other countries and go hiking in the nature :) besides school I studied music for about 5 years at University in Weimar. When I was 18 I did a working holiday year in Australia and New Zealand and after that I decided to study medicine.
Since medicine turned out to be a bit onesided, I startet studying philosophy when I got into my 6th medical Semester.
Between studies I was engaged in some political groups in Leipzig. And in the holidays (you have a lot in medicine, about 4-5 months a year), often I was travelling. E.g. USA for two months, Spain (5x; it got a ritual to hitchhike down in the winter), Sweden for hiking; Brasil, Bolivia, Peru, ...

I finished Medicine in Mai 2022, and now I am going on travel again.

PHILOSOPHY

I think, most important is being honest, living hones and trust other people.
don't get too comfortable at get yourself out sometimes

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to meet many new people and get new friends here! Traveling around and doing some trips with you would be great :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new here on couchsurfing, i just joined in here some weeks/month(s) ago. I got to know it about a friend and after reading a lot on the Internet, here in groups etc and besides I have nearly no experiences in couch surfing (i hope this will change really fast)

I started Couchsurfing in 2013 when I first went abroad and since than I had a lot of very good experiences, nice hosts and people I got to know and I got help, when I was in difficult situations. I enjoyed meeting the people and making new friends. I couchsurfed a lot in many different countries, but didnt for the last 3 years (+-) because of Corona and University which got more stressful - now I am very much looking forward to do it again and I am a bit nervous if its still working like it did back in the times :)

I discovered Couchsurfing for me as one of the best way to meet other people, obtain new friendships and get to know people with the same attitude to the world, that sharing is better than just owning :)
I really really hope that couchsurfing is working after covid still

Music, Movies, and Books

For me, music is one of the most important things. I'm playing the piano since I'm 6 years old and since I'm 13 i went to University in Germany to study it there as a youth student besides school. I like to listen to classical music but in my free time I mostly listen to rock, punk, ska, folk, sometimes pop and rarely rap, metal and house. On of my favorite is Beirut, coming from the United States they have much influence from East Europe folk music, you should look them up ;) )
I like watching movies very much and even more watching serials.
Books will become important now, because for my traveling thats the way to not feel bored in the tent.
