About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore new countries, cultures and foods.

ABOUT ME

What would my friends tell you if you happened to ask them about me, Couch Surfing wants to know. Well, if I was present, they would probably say that I need a haircut and a shave. In private, they would probably admit I'm a friendly, kind person with an incredible thirst for adventure. They all know how much I love to travel and explore - it's impossible not to notice. They may say that I would never intentionally hurt anyone and that I try my best to make people happy, especially those closest to me.

Although mostly they'll probably just say I'm a somewhat dazed and confused, and yet extremely laidback, sort of guy.

PHILOSOPHY

As long as I can experience lots of cool new things and keep those around me happy, I am pleased with my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a few times now (in Norway, Poland and Belgium) and had a brilliant experience each time, and I would love to continue doing so and hopefully also hosting when I can.

I recently hosted my first official couchsurfers (two Brazilians) and as it was an entirely positive experience I look forward to occasionally hosting more friendly travellers.

Interests

I'm always seeking adventure. I love to explore strange new places, dabble in exciting new things, learn about different cultures, and eat lots of awesome new food. I like to take on challenges like conquering a particular mountain, learning a little of a certain language, or flagging a few more countries on my giant "World Map of Conquest" that hangs in my room in Scotland. And then afterwards I like to relax somewhere comfortable with a great book and adventure a little more in my mind before sleeping it all off.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read copious amounts of books, mostly on Kindle these days. I read plenty of everything, but I've always been particularly fond of fantasy and sci-fi. I've also read a lot of physics / popular science books.

I love to watch movies at home and I'm usually happy to give anything a try if it appeals to me.

As for music, I listen to plenty of it and yet I don't know so much about the artists to whom I listen. I suppose I mostly listen to various kinds of Rock music, with a good variety of other stuff thrown in as well. Lately my girlfriend Beatrice has introduced me to a lot of new music and I feel like my horizons are expanding, which is awesome. Always happy to check out something new if you have some suggestions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first time I experienced the Northern Lights.

The first time I bit into a REAL Italian pizza in Tuscany.

And had the chance to visit these amazing places:

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not very musically inclined, and learning an instrument is still on my to-do list. I study engineering so I could maybe teach some basic maths or physics, or help with English as it is my first language.
