About Me

ABOUT ME

Jacob and Amanda love to travel and love to meet new people. There is something to be said about finding friends in foreign lands. They also love to host people, play games, and watch tv (specifically X-Files, Raising Hope and Scrubs). Both of them share a deep interest in music, although very differing styles. Amanda is a classically trained soprano and pianist, while Jacob rocks out to punk and metal. Ultimately, they want to help people, eventually opening a sustainable living orphanage, but for now, hosting people shall suffice. Also, they live for laughter.

PHILOSOPHY

We live because of the cross.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the best experiences we had as a couple was visiting Ukraine (Amanda's parents live there) during the Presidential elections in May 2014. Maidan square was still full of tents and protestors and the air smelled, but you knew something powerful happened, is happening, and will continue to happen.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A story and a decent home cooked meal.
