ABOUT ME

I am a 21 year old college student who is looking to meet people and have an authentic experience with young people in the country that I am traveling in. I want to learn about what a "typical" life would be like in wherever I am staying and I want to reap all the benefits of staying with a local. From January 1st to the 7th my friend and I will be traveling in Israel and we are eager to meet people and learn more about the country!
I love playing music. I have been playing guitar for 11 years and love playing music with anyone who can play an instrument or who can sing. I also love movies and hope to major in film studies at my University. I also care about the environment and am interested in doing outdoor activities if possible. I also like meeting new people!

PHILOSOPHY

Haven't really figured it out yet. Considerably in favor of doing what you love always but also aware that there are certain realities in life. Want to meet passionate people who care about the same things I do: music, film, and environment.

I haven't participated yet! I just want to make sure that if I am lucky enough to find a host I am a respectful and grateful guest. This is a privilege, and I do not want to spoil anything.

Music, Film, Environment. Why people are the way they are, what made them that way, what can be changed to make people different then the way they are, why we are the way we are, why things are the way they are, and what we can do to make things different in the future.
These big questions, and I love seeing incredible sights, like sunsets, mountain ranges. Favorite sight: Starry Skies.

音乐、电影和书籍

Books: Cormac McCarthy books are great, definitely need to read more, also love Stephen King books, as well as Robert Cormier- lots of different styles I know! Mainly books that are well written, plot is secondary.
Too many movies to list, but I love horror, crime/gangster/drama, and psychological thrillers.
Music: anything with good guitar, from country to fingerpicking acoustic to metal. All of those, and then songs that are simple yet incredibly heartfelt and easy to sing along to.

Worked as a deckhand on an educational Tall Ship, the Irving Johnson, at the Los Angeles Maritime Institute.
Most amazing sight: Leaving Catalina Island while sitting up 70+ feet in the air on the main mast.

I can teach guitar and teach how to appreciate and critique film. I think that the former can be difficult but very rewarding to many people, and the latter may seem pretentious but doesn't really have to be at all. I think that I would like to learn any kind of craft work or any thing using my hands-gardening, definitely want to learn how to cook, woodworking, anything that requires handiwork I want to learn.
