ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Jacob.
One of the most exciting things to me is exploring new places and learning from people that fall outside my usual sphere of comfort. I'm outgoing and know how to let things roll off of my back. I'm also driven, responsible, and strive to treat others the way that I want to be treated. I think that everyone has something unique and valuable to share, and I want to share as much of myself with others as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never couch surfed, or hosted a couch surfer before. It's a new experience that I'm looking forward to trying!

Interests

One of my favorite things to do is spend time outside in nature. I think that getting in touch with the natural world is important, and I find serenity in the beauty that the earth provides.
I love to cook, and sharing food with people is one of my favorite things to do. One can learn so much about a person over a simple meal, and the act of sharing food is a great bonding experience. My favorite way to learn about a place is through food. I'm an adventurous eater, and I find trying new foods exciting, infinitely interesting, and usually delicious.
Photography is another interest of mine. I like to capture moments, if only to supplement my own memories later. I would be hard pressed to call myself a photographer, it's just a fun hobby.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding my first auto-rickshaw in India. Realizing that my life was in the hands of the manic driver who had to avoid swaths of insane traffic (both human and animal) was both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. Rickshaws are a blast, and I wouldn't hesitate to get on one the next chance I got.
