About Me

I'm from the states originally but currently based in New Zealand. I've had residency there for over 7 years, with a lot of my family currently living there as well. At the moment I am living in Australia on a work and holiday visa, but am travelling to Europe for my cousin's wedding!

I'm a very sociable person and love meeting new people and learning/experiencing new things, especially different cultures, ideas, places, etc. I've always been keen on travelling, although it can be easy to get stuck in one place 😝

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started on CS ages ago, while i was travelling back to the states from NZ. I planned to use it, but ended up getting a job at a hostel in hawaii for 6 months !! 👍 And beyond that I've always had friends or other options of stay wherever I've travelled.

Interests

I love 'good' things: good music, good food, good wine, good people, good conversation, etc.

I also love sports, being outdoors, and travelling 😄

  • culture sharing

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big reggae fan--that's what I grew up on--but I also love classic rock, world music, electronic, some rap and hip/hop, and pretty much anything with some cultural relevance and meaning.

I love watching movies, especially 'good' ones lol. My favourite movie is Dumb&Dumber (the original, of course!). But I like all kinds, usually ones that aren't so typically "Blockbuster-y".

Books... Well I don't read enough, but when I do I sometimes like to read 2 books: one as a good story; the other for growth and pondering . Most recently I read Perfume:The Story of a Murderer, and Zorba the Greek (great book to read over time).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to New Zealand and got my residency! Since then, Ive also sailed to Tonga and Fiji as a crew and lived with a Fijian family for 3 months :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I've realised over the years that I am an educator... and a love for learning goes hand-in-hand with this!
I feel as though my path is in Outdoor Education/Mentoring.
And I love to learn and grow and share this with others, and help others to do the same :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share great laughs, conversations, stories, and of course COOKING!!!
