COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My favorite surfing experience:
Las Vegas. My travel partner and I had no idea what we were getting into when we decided to surf on Hunter's couch. Upon arrival we realized that we were just 1 of 5 or 6 GROUPS of surfers. I think we counted 10 countries represented in this tiny apartment. It was so crowded that even floor space was limited. This sounds like a horror story to some, but I loved every minute of it. We toured the vegas strip with Haley (England) and Buggi (Germany) who were also guests of our host. The Austrians cooked some delicious food while we all smoked sheesha and watched a flick. Later in the night another surfer dressed as Jack Sparrow strolled through the doors followed closely by a group of 4 European girls (multiple countries represented). People just kept pouring in. It was like a reunion of sorts...but for strangers. Everyone had fantastic travel stories to tell and opinions to share. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience
Because of experiences like this, I consider couch surfing to be the most unique and exciting way to travel. There are only benefits to this format: you save money, make friends, and have a tour guide of the town.

Teach, Learn, Share
God, I love foreigners. I feel so isolated from the rest of the world —being an American— so learning about other cultures is one of my favorite aspects of this website.
I can teach you a simple rock beat on the drums or a few chords on the guitar. I can teach you about fixed gear bike riding and slacklining and rock climbing. Or a bit about photography and videography. I am a man of many hobbies.
