Hello! My name is Jacqueline, I am 25 years old and living *currently* in Genova, Italy - my home away from home.

Here's a little about me:

I thought I was a mountain girl - until i spent 6 months living along the Mediterranean coast, now I fear I'll never be able to live inland again. Find me somewhere with stunning mountains and gorgeous beaches all in one please!

I am a crazy cat lady - if you have a cat I will most likely spend half of my time playing with and/or cuddling it.

I start decorating my house for Halloween in september - because Halloween starts on September 1 and ends on October 31, right?

I can't go into a bookstore without buying a book, even though I have *almost* a million unread one's already on my bookshelf.

I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up (if I grow up :P)

And I am beyond thrilled to meet new people and make new friends through this amazing community :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I quit my job almost a year ago and since then have been working my way across Europe doing different volunteer jobs on Workaway - but now and again I have a few days to explore a new city and I'd really love to add to that by staying with and getting to know a local. I think it would be a great way to get to know the city as well as making connections with like-minded people I'd otherwise never have the opportunity to meet.

It's the people we least expect who leave the biggest impacts.

Currently reading a book called In Other Words - a book written in Italian, by a non-native Italian speaker, that has the english translation alongside each page. It's quite inspiring and is doing wonders to help with my understanding of the Italian language.

Current playlist - anything and everything (but always Kaleo)

Current Films - call me basic but I can watch Harry Potter or anything Marvel on repeat for days on end.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most amazing thing I've done in my life so far is make the decision to leave home and travel on my own - travelling solo for almost a year now may not seem like something amazing to everyone, but to me it's pretty special and I am quite proud of myself!

I'm currently learning Italian - so anyone who is willing to practice with me would be a blessing!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will share my time, stories, super cute pictures of my cat, a bottle of wine, and my ability to help out around the house with my hosts :) Also some cooking skills that I picked up during my time living in Italy! (Who doesn't love Italian food???) Sorry I don't have any super cool talents or unique skills to teach any of you. Maybe I will learn some along the way and share with future hosts!
