About Me

Hello there 🤗

I've always loved travelling. I love capturing new places with all my senses, trying food, interacting with people, and hearing their stories. Fortunately, as a teacher, I had more opportunities to occasionally take breaks to explore beautiful places with my daughter. However, the limited weeks weren't enough, so in July 2023, before my daughter started school, we embarked on a year-long journey. We travelled by train through several stops in Europe to Istanbul. From there, we took buses (sometimes hitchhiking) through Georgia, Armenia, and Iran.

During our travels, we heard from fellow travellers about the benefits of Couchsurfing (getting in touch with local people, get an insight into their daily life, share meals together, share stories and create memories, become friends), which prompted us to join the community on the road. Although we haven't been hosts ourselves yet, we look forward to doing so upon our return in august 2024. Thanks to the Couchsurfing community, we've made many friendships, experienced wonderful moments, and discovered incredible places.

Our journey from Zurich to Bandar Abbas (southern coast of Iran) overland continued with a ferry to the United Arab Emirates. From there, through hitchhiking and buses, we reached Oman and took our first flight from Muscat to Colombo. We explored Sri Lanka, then Nepal, and are currently travelling by land and sea since Thailand (Thailand - Malaysia - Thailand - Laos - Vietnam - China - Korea and now Japan). We would love to have Couchsurfed in each country along the way to learn more about local life.

I'm interested in local life - getting to know people and their experiences, what makes them happy, and perhaps sharing moments of happiness in the present 💫 I enjoy cooking together, even though I'm a better eater than a chef 😅 I look forward to preparing breakfast or other dishes. I'm also interested in language exchange, and as a teacher of business and law, I can explain things in that area. We can discuss anything, play cards ("Gämsch"), or simply practice yoga together. My daughter loves crafting and painting and would be thrilled to play games together.

Feel free to reach out to us anytime!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Decided spontaneously to travel from India to Kyrgyzstan and wasn't equipped for any multiple day hikes. Ended up doing amazing multiple days hike to Ala Kul and many more hikes - many by myself.

Hitchhiked through Central Asia, Patagonia, Georgia to Iran

Went to Afghanistan, Wakhan Corridor, and then visited an NGO by myself.

Travelled with my daughter from Zürich (Switzerland) to Muscat (Oman) and then from Malaysia to Korea all by land and sea 🌏

Teach, Learn, Share

I work as an economy and law teacher. I can teach you the basics of economy.

I'm also enthusiastic about languages and can teach you some of the languages I know, and I'm always eager to learn more languages from others.

My 6-year-old daughter is a little artist at heart. She adores drawing and doing crafts, and she simply loves spending time with others while being creative. Whether it's colouring, painting, or making cute crafts, she's excited to have fun together and share her artistic adventures with new friends.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can prepare breakfast, meals, or dessert 🤗 it might not look instagram-able but I will try my best 😉 I can help you learning a language and share some travel stories with you 💜
