I am a Mexican American woman or Chicana which can be described as an American (born in US, brought up and family there) with strong Mexican/Indigenous heritage and very proud of it/want to help revival language and culture efforts, for example. I have even written(lead) an article about being able to conserve original cultures and at the same time being able aspire (that is, heritage is not in combat with progress). Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couch surfing because I absolutely love to travel and have done so extensively after having participated in Semester at Sea and being transformed with my voyages around the world.

Interests

Swimming, swimming and swimming or maybe reading, reading and reading, or perhaps writing, writing and writing. Apart from my love swimming, reading, and writing, I also love to engage in new athletic activities and fun new adventures. For example, the day before yesterday I went camel riding in Abu Dhabi and a few weeks before that I went rock climbing in San Diego for the 1st time. I also have learned to go with the flow if activities are healthy and I'm comfortable and of course, love dancing and people with good energy people, which makes doing activities worth it. As one may gather from this profile, sometime I talk too much and other times I enjoy being in silence (e.g. vipassanan meditation which I engaged in at the Dalai Lama's current homeland).

Music, Movies, and Books

I find myself continually listening to high vocal romantically inclined artists like Laura Pausini and Chayanne. I also love Mana (Mexican American, remember) and blues, jazz, instrumental, progressive, and the like. I like all music except country (with very few exceptions).
I love romantic and action flicks, especially autobiographical/biographical and those that teach lessons; on the plane from Bangkok to Delhi a few days ago, I finally watched Inception and was loving it; also I love the movies: Gone with the Wind, Matrix, Crash, Original Sin, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, -- namely movies starring Angelina Jolie, Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Brad Pitt, Robin Williams...
Books: Great Expectations, the Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, Eat Pray Love, Of Love and Shadows, Sophia, Gandhi's autobiography, & among other, Holothropic Breathwork books by the great Stanislav Grof who I met in San Francisco and got inspired.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have gone around the world and "never wanted trip to end" so here I am traveling again, currently in the UAE (3/25/16) & in a few hours once again I'm voyaging to India.

Teach, Learn, Share

I visited one of the places I 1st traveled to with semester at sea, India, more than 10 times and Cuba, 3 times. Afterwards I included new countries into my voyages such as Nepal, China, Cambodia, and Oman.

I have learned that I enjoy being with like-minded people, especially/primarily when it is genuine and sustained; that is, I'm sharing that I love/need only good-natured folks in my life and if u have double standards or agenda, we do not/should not/will not be friends. I love natural highs who's greatest high is the natural bliss of the lights in the Arabian dessert, for example, or refreshing natural chemistry caused by positivity.

Hmn, I believe it's always best to meet and you be your own judge. So, I will share that I am a happy go lucky girl who has high moral, ethics, and was raised accordingly; that is, I believe in karma and usually anything negative that I do will come back to haunt me ten times fold (and believe me it will) so it's perfect for me because rather than being God fearing it's more negative energy fearing or maintaining good energy; meaning, I highly believe in powerful energy and being good for the sake of being good because it ensures even greater goodness for myself and others.
