Hi! I'm Jacqie from Malaysia, and I'm visiting the U.S. for the first time. I'm passionate about art, music, history, and culture, and I enjoy meeting people and making new friends—something I hope to do very much over the next three months, during which I'll be traveling across the Lower 48.

I'm a designer and brand consultant who grew up in Malacca, a coastal city in Malaysia, and I'm now based in Kuala Lumpur, our capital city. I enjoy the outdoors: hiking, camping, and biking. I love animals and I have 2 cats. I keep my living spaces organised and always like getting to know the people I'm staying with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm going on a road trip through six U.S. states with my brother, Matt, who has lived in the U.S. for 12 years and who now works as a public health professional in Washington, D.C. We're very down-to-earth people who hope to connect with folks and make awesome friends all through our travels, see beautiful national parks, and get to know America up close and personal!

If you're ever in Malaysia in the future, I'd love to return the favour by bringing you to my favourite food and hangout spots in Kuala Lumpur, which has all the cosmopolitan trappings that you could look for in tropical Southeast Asia.

I'm a tidy person who likes clean spaces so I will keep your home spic and span. Since I enjoy cooking, I'd love to cook you a meal (with the right tools and ingredients) or help out in the kitchen.
