About Me

Greetings future hosts!

I am a buzzing cauldron of musical spitfire that goes by the name of Jacqi. I work seasonally for the National Park Service, (yes, I get to wear the hat), which lands me currently at Glacier National Park, though I spent 5 years working with brown bears in Alaska at Katmai National Park. I've lived in Guatemala, Belize, Brazil and Hawaii, spending time in other tropical locales, which has greatly influenced the person who I am.

I deal in chaos, creative endeavors, cursing, drinking, music of all sorts, singing sea shanties, immersing in our wild earth, and essentially supporting all matter of weird/queer/wild folk whom I can.

I play mandolin and even have a 5-song album out, the reason of which I'm currently joining Couchsurfing. I call my particular brand of nonsense folk-gypsy-pop, and if you'd like to give it a listen, (or even support this budding artist), check out this website:

Thanks for checking me out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to do a cross-country 20 city tour from October-December 2015 to promote by album and get to know the musical community from the American heartlands back down to the sweet sunny south of Asheville, NC.

I'd love to crash on your couch or floor, or if you have a tent, in your backyard. I'm respectful, will do the dishes, and offer a 6-pack of your favorite brew or a home cooked meal in return, (I love cooking Asian fusion food). If you're looking to party; great. If you're looking to have your own home-time and your own space while I crash; that's great too. I'll spend most of the time out and about, but wouldn't mind being friends for the night or two I spend in your home!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was rescued by a float plane and a patrol boat in Alaska after a storm picked up, stranding me and my lonesome kayak on a peninsula ruled by an angry female brown bear who didn't want to leave me alone. I'll tell you the specifics when I get to you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My warmth, my music, my cooking skills, and my humor. Oh, also my respect!
