About Me

Hello!

My name is Jacquelyn and I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona! My passion is people, and specifically different cultures! I love to travel and have visited many countries in Europe and some in Asia. I have lived all over the world, including year long stints in Russia, where I taught ESL, and the United Kingdom.

For the past year I have been in Washington, DC and studying Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet locals when I travel! Hotels are stale and needlessly expensive. Why not try some local flavor by staying with someone near and dear to the area? Couchsurfing is such a wonderful idea for adventure and cultural exchange!

We live in such a beautiful country/world full of beautiful people, and I want to see every square inch of it!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is "Fantastic Mr. Fox". I tend to love animation (and specifically stop animation) the most! I'm quite a foreign film junkie as well, would love some suggestions!

My favorite book is "Crime and Punishment" by Dostoevsky, but lately I am into reading books on jurisprudence, such as works by Hart and Mill.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Though I am young, I have done some cool stuff, such as jumping off of a bridge in Bern, Switzerland into some bitter Alps snow melt with some of my best friends by my side!

In terms of spontaneity, I once bought a ticket to Vietnam for my best friend's wedding out of the blue. While I was there I went to Trang An in Vietnam, which was an actual dream. Rowing through caves to hidden temples really does happen!

What I Can Share with Hosts

If my host is a lover of travel and culture then I have a lot of experiences to share, as well as any connections they may need when traveling if I have friends in the area. They will always be welcome to visit me wherever I happen to be!

In exchange for their hospitality I can also help with any chores around the house and I can occupy myself around the city. So the host can be as involved or distant as they feel comfortable with. I can also pay for food, spot a nice dinner out if they want. Anything to make our host comfortable!

Countries I’ve Visited
