About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To run round, to explore, to engage, to laugh
ABOUT ME
I currently live in Bristol. During daylight hours I spend my time in a dark room trying to make photons calculate things. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. The photons are a harsh mistress. During night time hours I occasionally force large groups of people to listen to my amplified voice by performing standup comedy.
Two years ago I studied physics and philosophy, and this combination of subjects epitomised the seeming dichotomy of my passions. I love science and logic and understanding how things work and making things that whirr and go bang. But I also love the creativity and beauty of discussion and the engagement with real life humans. Both these passions are unified by my thirst for knowledge and adventure.
I also love music. Whether it’s playing my bass guitar with others, digging for soul records, watching gigs or dancing the whole night away.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to explore, meet, think, share, expand; and want to meet any people who share any/all of the above.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never couch surfed before! I've heard so many positive things from my friends, and thought what better way to explore San Francisco.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking in Croatia. I took a lift with a guy. When I bundled into the back of his car I had to shift a load of cool boxes and bin liners out the way. After a few nervey minutes I discovered he was a veterinary scientist who was testing samples for rabies. The bin liners where full of frozen foxes. I was glad they were frozen.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you all about physics (see http://youtu.be/9xEUAGKuQx4). How the world of the quantum (really small things), is crazy and counterintuitive and beautiful, but can be harnessed to do cool things like crack the NSA!
