Overview
About Me
A series of "I" statements should suffice.
I am a forever student.
I am a language aficionado.
I tend to be verbose and go off topic easily.
I enjoy being anywhere and everywhere at the same time.
I like getting lost in good music, but rarely get lost in a good book (I do read often, but only a few chapters at a time.)
I set impossible goals and have lofty aspirations to travel the world.
I never forget to dream but often neglect to imagine.
I am quite entertaining and quite friendly.
I am NOT quite quiet.
I love the word etymology and also love the etymology of words.
I have a penchant for making people smile, and at times, blush.
I dislike lying, but find fibbing endearing.
I enjoy working and wear success well.
I'm much less intimidating than I sound...
Diane from "Cheers" is my spirit animal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never surfed but have had several individuals crash at my place.
I find the format to be akin to Uber- great people, great company, and a mutual appreciation.
Interests
After years in the myopic ivy bubble (Princeton Club of New York), I am looking to explore beautiful places outside of the city and form authentic connections along the way (a modern day Hemingway would be ideal).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - Mad about Macklemore (such thematic appeal), Taylor Swift, Imogen Heap, Ella Fitzgerald, and Philip Glass(as trite as that sounds)
Movies - "Paris, Je T'aime", "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown", "50 Shades of Grey", "A Man Called Ove", "All About Eve", "Todo Sobre Mi Mama", "Un Conte Noel", "Midnight in Paris", "Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gum"
Books - Old School by Tobias Wolff Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri
Just a sampling- my tastes and favorites vary by mood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survive- been through quite a bit and my ability to rise to challenges amazes me at times. I take pride in this as it is indicative of my joy of life.
Teach, Learn, Share
While born and raised here, I am very proud of where my family comes from- accumulated a rich wealth of history (through family tales and reading) that I will gladly share should the topic arise. I have an uncanny ability to find sales so should you be in need of something, do run it by me (so that I may secure the best deal for you). As a self-proclaimed forever student, I want to learn so much- while my primary goal is to learn about and explore your city, my ears and eyes are open to whatever you have to share.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Great conversation, a bottle of Port Wine, a fresh set of eyes to see your city through, an implicit adventure, a guest you'd welcome again, and an apartment for you to visit should you be in my town.
