Sobre mí

I'm friendly and easy going, quick to laugh or make a joke. I love meeting people who are interested in getting to know others and making friends. I feel like making a genuine connection with a person, even if it's over something quite trivial is really valuable.
My biggest goal right now is to maximise my travel opportunities, and see as much as I can while I still have relatively few commitments. I've just finished at 5 month stay in Sweden where I've been studying at Uppsala University. Now I have month in Europe before the long flight back to Australia so I'm keen to see Europe in a new light now I'm older, braver and a little wiser.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Classic backpacker story: aspiring travel addict. In 2014 a friend and I went to Europe for 3 months during our gap year which gave me a taste for overseas travel. Since then I've done some group trips to New Zealand and Thailand and a two month solo backpack through SE Asia and I've just completed my goal of living overseas by studying in Sweden.
I love solo travel because every day I was away I get better at meeting new people (I'm a closet introvert) taking a chance on new experiences and having the courage to strike out on my own. I love the problem solving challenges that travel throws up and the thrill of being interdependent. And it is incredible affirming to know that wherever I go in the world I will always find beautiful scenery, exciting challenges and wonderful people who want to get to know me and be known in return, have fun and play cards and chat over cups of tea.

Intereses

I like being active. My current sports are running, climbing, futsal (indoor soccer) and mountain biking. I also love bush walking (or "hiking"), and as and everyone knows, Tasmania is fucking beautiful and wild and the best place for bush walking. Sorry to swear, but I am Australian, and I'm really passionate about how much I love Tassie. Seriously, it's gorgeous.
I also love to read, mostly fiction but also historical biographies that really take me to a time a place I knew nothing about before.
I also like like being with my friends and family and having awesome times, whether it be a few quiets drinks (or some more rowdy drinks) or going on road trips to have adventures or just chilling at the beach or whatever. I love nice evening is just playing cards and gossiping over many mugs of tea or any hot beverage of your choice really. The best sort of friends are those who encourage you to get out there amongst it. It's so easy to fall in to old habits of doing the same thing all the time, and not having the courage or the motivation to break out of a boring cycle. That's why you need great mates.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Well it's not like the actual act of travelling solo is impressive in it's self, but my SE Asia backpacking trip was indeed amazing. On the face of it a had some incredible experiences like cliff jumping, motor bike riding, trekking, secluded hot springs and secret waterfall pools. But even more than that, every time I go away I become braver and happier, I learn to love myself better and chip away at my insecurities. I'm pretty sure those are the most important life skills: to learn to enjoy your life!

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I am personable and easy going and will endeavor to get to know you as much or as little as you like. I'm very considerate and will always be tidy and respect your home. I like cooking and sharing meals so it would be my pleasure to cook for you during my stay. I am a true nature lover and would would enjoy hiking or exploring with you, if you have the time and the inclination, but can also be completely independent as well.
