Resumen
Sobre mí
ME IN A NUTSHELL.
Sports scientist, researcher, hobby musician, don't smoke, no drugs, enjoy a good craft beer, ambitious, talkative, dry humour, easygoing.
ME AS A TRAVELLER.
Independent but sociable, friendly, clean, organised, low maintenance, can sleep almost anywhere, nightowl, would love to cook or bake something for you.
WHO I AM AND WHAT I DO.
I'm a sports scientist, with an interest in applied sports science, especially in elite sports. Completed my Honours in 2009, far and away the hardest thing I've ever attempted academically-speaking. I've also worked in corrective exercise. Biggest thing is...I love what I do! I'm so lucky to have found, and to be able to pursue, my passion in life.
When I'm not doing the sport thing, I'm a muso - I mainly play piano and guitar, but like to play around with other instruments that I have little talent for, e.g., anything that requires me to keep a steady beat.
I think conversation is grand If you're willing we can talk for hours about anything. I like to share music recommendations with others (I can recommend lots of great Aussie artists, especially). I get along well with independent people, and I get along REALLY well with ambitious people who are actively pursuing their passions. Passionate, ambitious people are awesome!
I like food I cook, but I especially like to bake...snickerdoodles are a specialty, but I do a mean potato bake too :) My favourite meal is breakfast. I am partial to anyone who drinks tea, and lots of it.
Most of all, I love to laugh. I laugh loud, often, and unapologetically. But I won't be offended if you ask me to be a little quieter - I get it all the time :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed a few couches in the US in 2010. Looking forward to more CS adventures in Europe, and as a host back home in my amazing city of Melbourne.
Intereses
I LOVE MY COUNTRY!
How can you not love this place? Beach, sand, sea, cliffs, alps, mountain ranges, dense forest, desert expanses, cityscapes, and some of the best native animal names in existence! Come on...wombat?! Kangaroo?! Platypus?!
I LOVE SPORTS!
It's pretty much a required trait if you are going to call yourself a Melburnian. Also if you're going to be a sport scientist. Ask me about Aussie Rules footy, or any of the dozens of sports that Aussie athletes seem to perform well in (swimming, cricket, basketball, rowing, sailing, hockey, soccer, and so on...). My time in the US has given me an appreciation for American football. Real talk.
I LOVE MUSIC!
Ask me about Aussie artists, and US indie pop/folk musicians. Or share some of your favourites with me :) Maybe we can even go to a gig together? Sharing music is one of my favourite things to do, and I listen to just about anything.

Música, películas y libros
MOVIES.
Up, Adam, Anchorman, All The Real Girls, 500 Days Of Summer, An American In Paris, Baby Mama, Up, The Go-Getter, Billy Elliot, Chicago, Cruel Intentions, The Cake Eaters, American Teen, Chocolat, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Kramer vs Kramer, Juno, Muriel's Wedding, The Castle, Pleasantville, The Breakfast Club, The Incredibles, The Wedding Singer, West Side Story, Zoolander. Readers beware, I love to have post-screening quote-fests! Especially appropriate if we have just watched ANCHORMAN.
MUSIC.
If I were to list all my favourite music, I would be here for hours. My music collection is pretty varied, but consists of lots of indie pop/folk, Aussie artists, and rock. But I'm pretty easy to please and like discovering new music, too.
Algo increíble que he hecho
Went on a trip through Central Australia in 2004...the highlight of all the school trips I ever went on. The most powerful memory I have is of lying on the ground with a couple of friends somewhere along the Oodna Datta track, staring up at a night sky unlittered with pollution or artificial lighting, and being clearly lit by the moon and the stars alone. The Oodna Datta track passes through notoriously barren expanses of dirt, and the feeling of isolation and even insignificance was so powerful. Here we were, these little blips on the surface of the Earth, looking across a flat terrain and thinking that if you walked far enough you could lose yourself in bare, treeless surrounds and the unreachable horizon. Amazing.

TEACH
I can teach you: some Aussie slang, how to play basketball, how to kick and handball a footy, how to play piano/guitar, how to tie a trick knot, how to improve your posture...
LEARN
I'd love to learn: French, how to play another musical instrument (maybe the djembe, or cello, or double bass).
SHARE
We can share: snickerdoodles, a laugh, a good conversation, music recommendations, travel stories, breakfast.
