ABOUT ME
As of February 2015, I unexpectedly spent more than a month in the hospital, I am now recovering at home after 3 surgeries and will be unable to host for the next few months : (
I'm married with 4 children and am a former trauma RN (nurse). I have loved traveling since I was very young and have lived in Mexico, been to China several times, Belize, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, and I spend summers in Turkey. When I am in Turkey in the summer, I also use that as a home base to do some traveling on that side of the world. I love to scuba dive, camp, hike, sail. I also love reading, drawing, painting, and photography. I am an avid archer as well. I'm passionate about music, but unfortunately I don't know how to play any instruments. Sigur Ros is one of my favorite bands and I've had the honor of meeting them and receiving one of Jonsi's back-breaking hugs : ) I like all genre's of music except contemporary country music, I prefer old school country like Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and bluegrass. Mostly I listen to alternative bands and world music.
PHILOSOPHY
Be kind, thankful and gracious.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to connect with people from around the world, especially in places I'm going to visit, and of course I hope to surf and host!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't had any yet! However, I have had friends from around the world that have stayed with me when they were visiting the U.S., some long-term and some short-term, we've always had a wonderful time!
Interests
Traveling, tent-camping, archery, reading, movies, music, drawing, painting, writing, cooking, gardening, anthropology and of course spending time with my family and friends. Sometimes I just need wide open spaces outdoors, away from cities and the daily grind. I love meeting new people. I'm quite outspoken (but I'm a good listener too, I don't dominate conversations. Overall, I think I'm a good conversationalist, there isn't much of anything I'm not willing to talk about, as long as it's good conversation! I really like learning about the history of places I visit, especially things they don't teach in textbooks.

*Doing a 58m (190ft) bounce dive in Belize
