Overview
About Me
Hi there! I'm Jade and I love traveling. Growing up with modest means, I never had the chance to travel. I caught the wanderlust and became a foodie ever since I studied abroad in Taiwan. It was my first time on a plane jetting out of California and just like that, I fell in love with traveling!
Career-wise, I absolutely love working with students and finding ways to support them towards their goals. I was an ESL teacher and I worked as a counselor to help underestimated students pursue their college ambitions. I currently serve as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at The Riveter, a company nationally in the US that whose goal is to empower diverse women at work.
I will treat your home as mine. I am very respectful and a warm, outgoing and fun person.
I'm excited to meet you!

Interests
I LOVE FOOD. Needless to say I am huge foodie and yelper. I love trying different types of cuisine and snacks from various countries. I'm daring when it comes to food, I'll try that mysterious looking noodles or dish!
One of my favorite snacks is Stinky Tofu from Taiwanese night markets.
I also love volunteering, reading, traveling, working, giving back to others, and getting involved in my community.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- While I studied abroad in Taiwan, I started a non-profit organization with my classmates that helped over 500+ residents in Taiwan. I learned so much from this experience of giving!
- I served as a US Japan ambassador
- I've worked in 20+ jobs in my life trying all hats to make the most positive impact I can.
Teach, Learn, Share
During my grade school years, I've always been bullied for my race and for being poor. it was also a difficult time for me because of bullying and I almost failed out of school. However, because of 2 mentors that saw potential in me and gave me leadership opportunities. Ever since then, I use my voice to advocate for others. This simple act of kindness, courage, and leadership has set an example that I aspire to for years to come.
So if you're reading this and you see a kid/person get bullied in the future, I sincerely hope you will speak up for them. Challenge yourself to give a voice to others who may not have developed their own yet. You will make a bigger difference than you may think. Don't let other people's opinion of you become your reality.
