I'm Jade, I'm 22 years old and I'm from São Paulo, Brazil. I love learning and teaching about new cultures and languages. I have two cats, Sissi and Charlotte (Charlie), and they made me the happiest girl in the world! I like going out but staying home watching Netflix or reading something is awesome too! Although I can be a bit shy, once I feel comfortable with people, I won't stop talking.

Although it isn't easy, I love being a teacher. It's extremely gratifying to know I'm the key to a person's education, to know that I'm able to talk to my students not only about the English language, but also about foreign traditions, worldwide problems, and simply to be someone they can trust.

Going out doesn't necessarily mean having fun to me. Sometimes I enjoy staying at home with my cats or just inviting friends over to have pizza and watch something on netflix; on the other hand, pubs and even nightclubs can be very entertaining. I love having a drink or two and when I feel like dancing, I do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I went on an exchange program for 5 months to the US when I was 17, but I didn't feel like I was prepared. Now, 5 years later, I'm going to travel to Europe for the first time (pretty much Germany and England, to be honest) and try couchsurfing. I've never done this before, neither hosting nor surfing, but I decided that this year I would be more adventurous and test my limits. I want to meet new people, to have different experiences, to listen and to talk. I think couchsurfing is the best way to do all of this!

I've been listening to a lot of pop/punk bands, but I also like pop, Brazilian music and rock. I don't have a favorite movie but I sure love the Harry Potter books and "I am Malala"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've adopted two cats, Sissi and Charlotte, last year, and they've become the most important things in my life (aside from my family and friends, of course). I didn't know I was able to feel this much love for two little cats, to change so much because of them. I know this isn't grand or anything but they're an important part of my life now and I don't even want to imagine what it would be like without them
