Overview
About Me
I'm a bit of a nerd, a bit quirky, I love food and music and adventures!
I also really love my work now that I've fonished uni although I'm happy to take a break and go on an adventure too :-P
I am happy to get to know new people and can't wait to continue my couch surfing experience as a host and guest.
Crafts, vintage and collectables and traditional culture as well as sub-culture are all my go to's while travelling. I prefer to briefly stop by the main tourist attractions and spend more time in the backstreets getting to know the locals and what makes up their lives.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people! Beats a hotel that is just a room. One conversation with a host is worth more than any events calendar or room service! I'm keen to give back by hosting and also taking my host somewhere for a drink or food :)

Music, Movies, and Books
hmmmm This is always a hard one.
I love live music - seeing a new band is always wonderful. Love music festivals and any kind of music related celebration. I like just about all types of music. Haven't watched many movies of late due to my time being consumed by work however love documentaries, some comedies, chick flicks, some action, superhero type movies but most of all anything that is based on a true story.
Books - my ultimate fav! Biographies, travel books and academic journals. I tried getting into zines and comics but I don't think I'm cool enough for that yet ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Made friends with the local dumpling shop owner while living in China. Might not sound amazing but it took a while to win her over. It was easier once I mastered better conversational skills in Chinese. I will never forget that lady. She was a whiz in the kitchen, provided a warm and cosy breakfast and a comforting hole in the wall establishment for anyone who could fit in through the doorway filled with tables (while it was sometimes -40degrees (celsius) outside).
Also, made friends with 'mummy', the coolest surfie Japanese guy. He made a wicked Japanese style taco and he and the visitors at the bar all celebrated my birthday with me as I was travelling solo!
Teach, Learn, Share
Happy to teach English as I did this in China for 12 months. Also happy to help out in the garden and around the house! Would love to learn all about your language and customs :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Happy to share my (ok) cooking skills and do what I can to earn my stay. I'm new to this so will have to learn as I go. Suggestions welcome.
