About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am right now doing a world tour which started by being 30, having a big party with all my friend with the excuse of getting married, quitting my job, selling all of our possessions and booking a one way ticket to Brazil with no return date ! But the idea was not to be tourists as usual, no... we wanted to melt inside the new cultures we would meet, infiltrate homes, learn new abilities and discover who we are ! Vast program... That's why we are now travelling and working as volunteers to have a chance to be usefull, live as the people that host us and learn new crafts!
ABOUT ME
My new husband (Lorenzo-italian) and I are a long run couple even if new wedded! In fact, we met in 2010 while beeing Erasmus in Romania. I'm telling you that in case you would be afraid of hosting a (married 😨) couple ! I wouldn't say we are an "old couple" but we are rather well behaved and we really do like meeting new people AND interacting with them ! You will probably not feel as the third wheel with us ! We've been traveling a lot together, beeing 24-7 together in bad and good moments so we passed our crash test : no crisis at your place we promise!
I beeing french and he beeing italian, I'm more of the listener and he the talker at first but this situation usually reverses after a while !!
That beeing said, I'm also an individual person ! I've been studying languages and international business before, by chance, starting working in organic agriculture after a volunteer experience ! I'm now planting, weeding, collecting vegetables full time! To increase my knowledge, before leaving i had been studying medicinal plants and natural medicine for 2 years. If this new life is less international than I though, I've not abandoned the idea of taking my backpack and discovering, meeting, tasting, adapting, speaking foreign languages and beeing amazed: i keep travelling at every opportunity I've got! I love having a more manual job now and beeing able to produce something with my hands. I am interested a lot by handicrafts and self sustainability!
PHILOSOPHY
Every person you meet becomes part of who you are, and you can only connect the dots looking backwards and not forwards.. do what you like to do, even if it looks crazy, and you will make something out of it somehow !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I attended CS meetings in Lille where I was a student and help couch surfers discovering and enjoying the city and French culture!
I also participated to CS events of the Caen community, organising a lasagna day with Lorenzo, joining barbecue meetings and a bicycle weekend around the Loire castles!
The CS community also helped me meeting friends when i first arrived in Italy for a year as a French assistant.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I don't have yet a lot of experience except for participating in CS meetings and events though it was a great way to meet friendly, open minded people from all over the world !
I have been hosted a few times with Lorenzo and I really enjoyed participating in the daily activities of my hosts if help was welcome! For example, hosted by a baker, we woke up at dawn to help making bread and realise a photo report showing the work of the bakery!
I guess i got apart from couchsurfing starting to do volunteer experience which i thought unables me to stay longer and create a deeper relationship with the host by sharing a working experience, learning and sharing new techniques and knowledge! But I now realise they are complementary and that CS can lead to a more diverse type of exchange, that's why I'm taking up my too long unactive profil to come and meet you !!
Interests
I love beeing in nature, walking in the middle of everchanging landscapes and hikking to reach some lost place, working outside with my hands in the earth growing vegetables and enjoying the fruit of my work, walking in search of medicinal herbs, analysing the environnement and the way things grow and prepare them into natural cures !
Photography is a way for me to remember the beauties of the place i've been but also the little details you would easily miss or catching the every-day-life ! Hopefully sometimes it can transmit the emotions i felt to other people!
I started yoga some years ago in the hope of beeing more present, calm and grateful for the moment ! It's gonna be a lifetime training!!
I looove eating! And when travelling, tasting local food is a huge part of the cultural discovery ! At home i like trying to cook everything from bread to yogurt, Pickles and fermentated beverages !

Music, Movies, and Books
When I'm travelling i like listening to the typical (and less typical!) music of the place and beeing advised books and films ! I'm quite open to anything !
When I'm home I usually listen to chinese Man, fakear, bonobo, la fine équipe... Which Can be defined as french touch électro! But also italian and romanian rap, hip hop reggaeton from Puerto Rico (calle 13)...
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach or at least practise some languages (French-English-Spanish-Italian !) and I would like to keep learning new ones!
I can also share some knowledge about photography and am very interested in learning more about it !!
We can practice yoga and meditation together ! I can show you how to draw a mandala!
I can take care of your plants and if you would like to start a vegetables gardent (or already have one !) we could share tips about it !
Good advice about travelling and places to see is always nice ! to share both ways ! same is true for cooking recipes !! I can cook some French pancakes with caramelised bananas, lemon pie, bread, kéfir (fermentated natural sparkling beverages), plenty of cakes... what are your specialties? :)
