About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover the world and follow my heart...

ABOUT ME

My name is Mareni this is not a common name in my country, so is usually hard for people to learn it, even for mexicans. Mareni means, the point where the ocean and the sand meet. I’m currently studying two careers cinema and dance at SFSU in California. I studied for a few years Arabic percussion. I love arts and enjoy being around it. Cinnamon is my skin color, and black and long my curls.I consider myself an open-minded person; I’m a dreamer and believe that dreams always come true. I have an adventurous heart and love challenges.I appreciate sensibility, humility, honesty, happiness and real people.I love plants, animals, nature, permaculture, gardening, world music, world dances, singing, photography, poetry, international cooking, colors, composition, textures, fabrics, alternative medicine and home remedies. I love the ocean and the mountains, the river and the desert. I love traveling and exploring around the world, but I do enjoy spending time at home.Mamey and avocados are my favorites.I'm always looking for better ways to live a sustainable life.  I would love to learn how to play the accordion and piano. Also portuguese. I’m really good at keeping relationships with friends even if is long distance. I enjoy simple things in life, the smell of the gardenias, jazmin and romero, a sunset on the beach, drink a glass of red wine while caressing the sand with my feet.I like beer but I prefer red wine, if I drink beer is usually because the weather is really hot, the beer is home made or there's nothing else to drink. I like the smell of coffee but I’m allergic to the caffeine. Roiboos is my favorite tee, herbal and flower infusions, not a big fan of sweets, too much sweet makes me thirsty. I like listening new experiences from other travelers, sharing my culture and learn about other countries.I never take NO for an answer, I like to try at least once.Â

PHILOSOPHY

I know times are tough these days, but I really love when people at least try to live a better life, try to live in harmony with the environment, when they want to be part of the solution and no part of the problem.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Sinai, Egypt scuba diving in the deepness of the red sea, watching the living creatures and micro organisms along the reef, the bright colors i saw...all was stunning for me. Another one, was when i and a friend visited Morocco. we went to the Sahara desert and refused to pay for an expensive tourist tour into the desert. So we decided to take our own walk into the dunes, we were so exited taking pictures that didn't notice we had walked too far in. We walk a total of 8 hours until the dawn, luckily we found an angel walking on the desert (that's how I named him) he was a Saharaui men that guide us the way out to the village...in exchange we gave him a bottle of red wine and some dirhams.
