About Me
A NOTE TO POTENTIAL GUESTS
It is my firm belief that Couchsurfing is a medium for understanding other cultures, networking with people around the world, and promoting global peace through understanding and the development of interpersonal relationships that recognize no border.
Along those lines, I also believe that CS is NOT a free substitute for a hotel when traveling between nearby cities or visiting local friends that don't have the ability to host you themselves. Thus, unfortunately, I will deny any applicants that fall within this purview.
CURRENT MISSION
After my wonderful couchsurfing experiences, I aim to promote global unity through a better understanding of others.
ABOUT ME
I work in mission design at Kennedy Space Center. I like to travel, read, write, eat, and exercise!
PHILOSOPHY
Life is short, and people are good. Live it up.I want to learn as much as I can about people and the world we share. I can never meet all 7 billion, but perhaps with my travels I can get a snapshot of human life and what it means. One day I hope I can use the knowledge I gain to help bring the world together and work towards erasing those lines on the map.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed through more than 3 months and 25 countries in Europe and have been repaying my debt to the community by hosting myself. I have met wonderful people from Germany, France, Iceland, England, and more. I hope to continue contributing in this way, and receiving the wonderful exchange of culture and ideas in return. Couchsurfing is an amazing tool that has broadened my horizons, and its the people on here that have helped me accomplish that. Thank you all!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had an account for a while, but I've just started using it, and look forward to many good experiences!
Update 21/12/2011: I've just returned from a trip around Tokyo where I couch surfed for 9 days with 4 great hosts. Thank you all so much!
Update 18/08/2012: I was hosted during a trip to China and am now couch surfing my way around Europe! Thank you to all or my generous hosts!
Update 29/11/2012: After a great experience in 25 countries in Europe, I'm back at home and happy to return the favor. I owe a debt of gratitude to all of my wonderful hosts.
Update 7/20/2015: I have hosted people from all over the world, and continue to welcome travelers into my home!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like most kinds of music. Most of the time I listen to rock or electronic music, but I often enjoy jazz, classical, and country.I read all the time, and just about anything I can get my hands on will be intellectually devoured.I'm not much of a movie person, but I love Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek: TNG, and Shogun.
Teach, Learn, Share
Rules of world travel (in the order in which I have learned them):1.Don't check bags during airline travel unless you have to. Take only a carry-on.2.Make sure that bag is less than 10 Kilos and fits in the overhead compartment.:/3.In Australia, They serve "tomato sauce" instead of katsup4.In Australia, Tomato Sauce (real Tomato Sauce) is very difficult to find, so unless you find the ONE Coles (In Hobart, I found) that carries true Tomato Sauce, you're going to have to run with crappy pre-mixed pasta sauces and just spice those up.5.In Japan, Go-Go Curry (ゴ-ゴ-カレ-) is king. Find it. Eat it. Love it.
6. In the U.S. there aren't very many hostels, but there are plenty of CS hosts - use them! We love meeting travelers!
7. Perhaps this goes without saying to some, but with the exception of Hong Kong, very few people in China speak English. You'll really need your lonely planet for this one.
8. Although nearly all of the countries in Eastern Europe have their own language, you need only know English or Russian to travel, as the last generation learned Russian in school, and the younger generation is studying English! Although not everyone falls into this category, there will always be someone nearby that speaks one of these languages!
