About Me
CURRENT MISSION
learn what it means to be "bohemian"
ABOUT ME
I like to experience new places, try new things, learn, laugh, and explore. I love spending time outdoors and exploring all kinds of landscapes... I guess that's why I ended up as a geographer! I like all kinds of outdoor activities: hiking, camping, rock climbing, photography (just to name a few). I suppose you could call me Granola!
I want to see the world & make it a better place. I care about sustainability, and I want to help build collaboration in environmental conflicts because I believe that the most creative solutions happen when we listen to one another and work together.
I believe that experiences and relationships are the best parts of life! I want my life to be a scrapbook of amazing places, people, and stories.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that little things can make a big difference, that collaboration produces amazing results, and that I can always learn something from someone. I strive to be open-minded and openhearted.
One of my new favorite ideas is the Japanese aesthetic concept of wabi-sabi: beauty in transience, imperfection. Through my travels, I hope to learn to accept and appreciate whatever happens and to see the beauty in everything.

Interests
I love visiting natural places, National Parks, deserts, mountains, oceans, rivers, lakes..
When I visit a new town/city, I like wandering the streets and seeing the character of the old buildings, cafes, markets. I love it all!
I live in the Pacific Northwest, where I've developed a fondness for beer, coffee, and good food (especially local food). Quinoa, avocados, curry, and farm-to-table food are some of my favorites. I am a recent vegetarian!
I have a new-found love for rock climbing. It is exhilarating, challenging, and addictive!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of art! I appreciate symbolism, stories, and analogies used in art and music. I like unusual films with well-developed plots and thought-provoking themes and messages.
When it comes to music, I have eclectic taste! I appreciate the deep stuff, but on a day to day basis, I prefer listening to music I can dance to!
I am fascinated by tattoos as an art form, especially the emerging trend of Photoshop/graphic style tattoos coming out of Europe and New York. I love hearing about people's tattoos and the stories behind them.
One time, on my birthday, a group of bikers did a karaoke rendition of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and dedicated it to me. The whole bar sang along. It was awesome!
A few things I like: Les Mis, Moulin Rouge, Alice in Wonderland, Labrynth, Clue, Harry Potter, Panic at the Disco, Nirvana, Lady Gaga, His Dark Materials, Wuthering Heights
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. The first time I saw the Pacific Ocean and experienced the Pacific Northwest mountains
2. Rock climbing at Smith Rock (Oregon)
3. Watching the Perseid Meteor Shower on a crystal clear night from the rim of Crater Lake
The first one (among other factors) influenced my cross-country move to Oregon. The other two are just a couple of my most favorite, most recent experiences while living in this beautiful part of the world!
