Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Teach, and in turn be taught by, the Earth and all it's peoples
ABOUT ME
Scientist, musician, educator, listener, funster.
Studying, living and breathing Palaeontology in Melbourne at the moment, but I'm immensely inspired by every science and aspect of the universe... I'm serious! As such, the world we live in never ceases to fascinate me, and one of my missions is to shed some of this enthusiasm on others.
PHILOSOPHY
I like to think that I have a rational approach to all aspects of life, but like all things in this world, these are not absolute, and are subject to revision (I welcome a challenge and healthy discussion!)
Here's an example or two:
On morality - based on an individual´s ability to suffer
On Living Life - To maximise life experience, it's important not to become addicted, because the tolerance effect will diminish the experience over time. As such, change is an essential part of a full and fulfilling life.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I'm a sucker for Avatar - sexy alien monsters on an exotic world do it for me every time! Sci-Fi's and movies with twists or that make you think about them long after you've left the cinema.
Music: I like most of all genres - even pop, as long as it's 20 years old; some minor exceptions. Favourites hover around the alternative-to-weird (Faith no More, Tool, Incubus, Closure in Moscow).
Books: 1984 (Orwell), Cosmos (Sagan), The Selfish Gene (Dawkins), Sword of Truth Series (Goodkind), Just Six Numbers (Rees), Tomorrow Series (Marsden)
Teach, Learn, Share
Rational, scientific, skeptical perspective to all facets of life (human or otherwise).
I know a few Karate moves, and I used to make killer Chilli con Carne, but then I became Vegetarian (I suppose I could try a Chilli con Vegge?)
I'd like people to challenge me on some of my more dogmatic beliefs and ideals (eg. democratic socialism, sub-athiesm, vegetarianism...)
I'd also like to learn how to make a good curry - you know the kind I mean, the creamy type that soaks into the rice...Yummers!
I think I'll have to kiss the person who can teach me how to do a backflip and/or the robot dance.
