Overview
About Me
I'm an active, friendly, outgoing and generally hospitable guy. I try not to turn down any opportunity I get - you never know what good times it might lead to. I pretty much live by the mantra "life is short, so just go with it."
I was a mechanical engineer, got bored of that, moved to Barcelona, did a masters and decided to stay on this side of the pond after finding a job in Frankfurt am Main. I'm an adventurer and traveler at heart and spend more weekends exploring the world than staying in the city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had a bunch of incredibly awesome CSers come through my house and I'd gladly accept more. I do my best to be a city guide and the best example of Canadian hospitality for whoever surfs with me, wherever I am in the world. I love meeting new people and hearing where their adventures have taken them.
Interests
I'm very much an outdoorsy person. I spend most weekends either in the mountains or at a lake or with friends somewhere in the world. I do pretty much every water sport (sailing, waterskiing, windsurfing, rowing, kayaking...) and enjoy everything you can do in the mountains (biking, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, climbing...). If I'm not out doing some sport, I'm usually either fixing or building something or playing guitar. No rest for the wicked, right?

Movies - everything. My collection is huge, lots from the 1920s until now. My all-time favourite continually changes, but V for Vendetta and Pirates of the Caribbean are always near the top.
Music - everything from country to blues, bluegrass to hip hop, and everything in between.
Books - A Brave New World, 1984, Grapes of Wrath, Hitchhikers Guide, Dune, Hyperion Cantos, Snow Crash, Ender's Game, Jane Eyre, and way too many more to list

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to sail or windsurf during the summer, and ski/snowboard/ice skate during the winter. Love taking friends rock climbing too. You may even pick up a couple of my favourite recipes too!
