About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My name is Jahli' (pronounced jahlee') my goal is to always be the best I can be, and to do all I can to truly make a positive impact in other people's lives and on the planet, all while having more fun!
I know all the solutions to the all the challenges we face are here now . I've committed my life to implement them as well as spread love, hope, joy, peace and, prosperity to everyone everywhere I go. My goal is to always seek and embrace the ultimate truth whatever that may be.
For many years I've been working to facilitate funding for various humanitarian projects primarily the creation of a global network of non-hierarchical, self-sustainable, non-petroleum, nature-oriented, communities living in balance with nature, pioneering the latest alternative and free energy and healing technologies.

ABOUT ME

Obviously one can see I'm pretty idealistic but, I'm also very pragmatic and grounded as well. While I may seem to be more spiritually-oriented, and health-conscious, I'm not dogmatic or extremest in any way.
I'm very open-minded, easy-going, down to earth, fun-loving, peaceful, generous, kind, clean, considerate, conscientious, drama-free, and wish more would be like me lol. Sometimes I'm quiet and introspective, sometimes extroverted and adventurous. I'm secure in who I am and hope I'm a positive example for others.
I've been through a lot in my life esp. when I went to Dominican Republic some years ago, and lost nearly everything including my health and sanity. I was a broke gringo in a 4th world country. By grace and the help of a poor taxi driver, I managed to make it thru.
Despite the challenges and setbacks, it's a very exciting time for me right now as many years of hard work are very soon to pay off.

I love the beach and the sun. One big reason I left Washington.

I love to travel and meet new people, experience new things, see other perspectives and generally, expand my horizons.
I've lived many lifetimes in this one and often wonder how I made it this far.

PHILOSOPHY

Love and live life to it's fullest, sharing unconditional love and trust with everyone I meet, always treating them with respect and, the way I want to be treated.
Each person is a sacred star, unique and special.
Respect everyone, judge no one and, honor each person's truth.
Love is the only law and, we are all One.

“Spirituality is rebellion; religiousness is orthodoxy. Spirituality is individuality; religiousness is just remaining part of the crowd psychology. Religiousness keeps you a sheep, and spirituality is a lion’s roar.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have traveled and hitchhiked all over the Americas for many yrs. and so, I have slept on a couch or two (and a lot of other places).
I wished couchsurfing had been around when I was younger that's for sure.
Though it says I've been a member since '08 I've not had the opportunity to experience couchsurfers yet.
I guess I heard about it and then signed up. But then, I ended up leaving the country for Central America and I guess I forgot about it till just recently.
I'm on it because I think that It's a brilliant concept. I really look forward to getting to be part of the Couch Surfing community and share it with others! I think that traveling and experiencing other cultures and perspectives is vital for one to be whole and balanced. I was an exchange student in high school and it changed my life for the better. Beside being too expensive sitting in a hotel room isn't a good way to experience a new place.

Interests

Exploring life and experiencing new things.
Shamanism philosophy, health and nutrition, entrepreneurism, anything having to do with nature, gardening, psychology, alternate realities, traveling, meeting new people, reading, biking, hiking, photography, festivals, music, dance, art, the list goes on forever.
Basically, anything which is uplifting and positive from yoga to beer etc. I love playing percussion and dancing round a fire under the stars til the sun comes up.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most any kind of non-commercial and esp original music. I esp. like electronic trance but, can't say I have any one favorite type. I love to play percussion with any kind of music esp. electronic.
I've read many books but right now what stands out is the work of Robert Anton Wilson which I read years ago and just picked up again...."Belief is the death of intelligence." "You are precisely as big as what you love and precisely as small as what you allow to annoy you." "If one can only see things according to one's own belief system, one is destined to become virtually deaf, dumb, and blind." and my faovorite..."Of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong".
Robert Anton Wilson

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Yrs. ago I went down most of the Amazon River by boat from Iquitos, Peru to Manaus, Brazil. I'll never forget the huge sun coming up in the morning while little white dolphins swam along with the boat jumping out and doing corkscrew through the air. I then, ended up living in the mountains at the base of Machu Picchu where I had a number of amazing experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

Life, massage, healing, cooperative commerce...just about anything...what's mine is yours. I'm not sure what I have to share. I know a little of everything and a lot of nothing but, it's amazing what shows up sometimes.
I'm very much into sharing my healing skills, philophy and knowledge.
I'd really like to learn more about the CS community and how I can best support it.

I want to smile more, laugh more, judge myself less, be true to myself and, always follow my heart no matter what.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great company, I cook, clean and can do just about anything.
I'm a very good healer/ intuitive massage therapist with magick hands and i also can do minor chiropractic adjustments.
I'm here to serve anyway I can.
By the way, I go by Jahli' (pronounced jahlee') but, Lee is ok too. My email name is jahliman but, I haven't figured out how to change that on my profile page yet. Someone wrote and asked if that was my real name.
