About Me

I've recently graduated as mechanical engineer, couldn't find a job in my field, travel seemed like a good backup. On a journey to meet my sister in Australia and am travelling through South East Asia along the way, just a small detour haha.

Started in Japan after that I was in South Korea then China and currently in Thailand until March 13th.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm travelling the world and would like to meet all great people throughout it.

Interests

I enjoy music, I play guitar, sing and was in musical theater for a number of years.

I love being outdoors going for hikes or playing sports, in general if it involves fresh air and exercise it's good in my books.

I practice meditation and two martial arts: Kendo and Bagauzhang ( a form of Daoist Kungfu) as well as yoga.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy being surrounded by music, if I'm not watching movies, documentaries or TV shows on Netflix, 8Tracks is constantly playing. As for the type of music, I listen to just about anything excluding country, hip hop and rap, but even those have exceptions.

The Four books I read in the past year are:

Superfuel: discusses Thorium based Nuclear technology

Sun in a Bottle: discusses Fusion reactors

Power Hungry: discusses where the bulk of our power is derived from and what will be done in the future

Good to Great: discusses what separates sustained great companies from the rest

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived the education system haha

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyday I make an effort to practice the Dao Yin. Its a series of exercises, from Baguazhang I mentioned before, that focus on Qi manipulation and, stretching and strengthening the body.

Once I've completed the series I bow and say the following:

I honour the masters who came before me and seek to develop the Four Virtues;

Honesty to myself and other at all times

Humility to all people in thoughts words and deeds

Patience I serve others according to their needs

Sincerity is the foundation of my every action

I believe regardless of your culture or religion there is some form of these virtues and you should remind yourself of these everyday, only by doing so can you develop and grow as a human being.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Other than my humor and insights I'm handy to have around, I always like to leave places the same or better than when I arrived. the last place I CS I built a stand alone coat rack, a shelf and even installed a new light fixture.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
